Our mission is to provide family coaching to support academic and social-emotional growth for children of all ages.
Our Core Values
In all things, give thanks.
Speak your truth to live your truth. Together we will practice openness and acceptance.
We all make mistakes and will face negative experiences. Let’s use what we have NOW to create a plan for moving forward in a positive and healthy way.
Positive Forward Momentum
We are faced daily with myriad choices, which may be as simple as how we choose to respond to a situation at work, at school, or with a loved one. Recognizing that level of self-control brings great freedom and opportunity.
Assuming the glass is already half full, let’s fill it further to overflowing!
Mary is an educator and coach with a passion and gift for building self-confidence in children. She excels at helping them switch the proverbial light bulb on to realize all of which they are capable. Equally important to her is providing support to the key adults in children’s lives, whether parents, teachers, nannies or others. Certified as a Health Coach by the prestigious Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Mary founded Healthy Equation to merge two loves: educating others for the sake of children’s personal growth and spreading information in the field of health and wellness — particularly as it relates to children’s growth.
For over 15 years, Mary has worked as a high school and elementary teacher, elementary school principal, and head of school for a private school serving grades PK3–12. She has graduate and post-graduate degrees in educational leadership. While coaching is now her “official” career, Mary has been in the role of coach for years while mentoring and supervising teachers, as well as supporting parents as they navigate their challenging role as Mom or Dad.
In addition to a background in health coaching and educational leadership, Mary also holds degrees in accounting, rhetoric and communication, and is a student in psychology.
Coaching is personal, and I’ll get to know a lot about you. It seems only fair to tell you a little bit about me too!
My favorite flavor of ice cream: mint chocolate chip — in a sugar cone!
One of my favorite quotes: “Kind words are short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.” – Mother Teresa
The song that makes me dance in my kitchen: Clocks … Coldplay & Buena Vista Social Club
My favorite childhood memory: Going to the beach each summer with my family… playing in the sand and flirting with the waves as they crashed on the seashore. I still love doing this!!
